Real Estate Group is to provide real estate services to today’s diverse
real estate client. The iRealty Real
Estate Group was founded and owned by the company’s current broker, Ellwood
G. Reid Jr. He previously sold real estate under Long & Foster Realtors for
nearly seven years. Over the past forty years, L&F has become the largest
real estate company in the Mid-Atlantic and the largest privately owned real
estate company in the United States. Working for such an esteemed group of
professionals afforded Ellwood the opportunity to gain invaluable business
knowledge and experience.
Many real estate companies that have been around for several
decades have grown and experienced great popularity, wealth, and success.
However, the real estate market and the entire real estate business has changed
rapidly over the years and companies that either resisted or failed to change
have become dinosaurs and are unable to provide the level of service that
today’s clients need. For example, the photo of Ellwood on this page is only
seven years old. The original picture was studio quality for that time but
today you could take a better picture with a relatively inexpensive handheld
camera.
The real estate business has experienced rapid change over the last few years, weeks, and months. The iRealty
Real Estate Group is a company that recognizes those changes and wants to
give today’s customers what they want now instead of trying to force outdated
methods, tactics, and business practices on them. Ellwood learned over the
years that what is often in the best interest of the company is not always in
the best interest of the client. Every customer is different and you can’t
simply force today’s savvy consumer in a box and attempt to convince them that
we must do business the way that we did forty, ten, or even five years ago. Things
have changed. People still want great customer service and outstanding results
but today they want to communicate electronically and they may want to talk to
their realtor at 8:00pm even though it is “after hours”. They want individualized service with a
pay structure that is tailored to them and they want to know that they are
getting exactly what they are paying for without paying for services that they
don’t want or need. When was the last time you sold a home, paid $20,000 in
commissions and was charged a $300 “admin fee”? This is a great example of a
practice that works well for the company. Imagine if you were a very large real
estate company with thousands of offices that completed approximately three
hundred transactions per month and demanded that this fee be charged to every
customer or paid by the realtors if they don’t agree to charge the fee. That
would create an extra revenue stream that would add well over $1,000,000 to
your company’s bottom line. Anyone can see how valuable an extra million
dollars is and that this practice is definitely not in the best interest of the
consumer. It happens everyday and these are the types of junk fees that you
will not find when dealing with the iRealty
